K2 is a family strategy game where players manage two-person teams of Himalayan climbers. Your mission: reach the summit and descend safely. To succeed, you must choose the right path, manage your climbers' stamina, and adapt to rapidly changing weather conditions. This Big Box edition includes the base game and three exciting expansions: Broad Peak, Lhotse, and the Avalanche mini-expansion!
How Does It Work?
Each player begins the expedition with two climber pawns. Your goal is to lead at least one of them as high as possible and bring them back down to safety.

Card-Driven Movement: The gameplay revolves around playing cards that allow you to move your pawns or increase your climbers' acclimatization levels.

Simultaneous Planning: The game spans 18 turns, representing 18 days of the expedition. Players simultaneously plan their moves by selecting cards and placing them face down. Once revealed, actions are executed in order.

Acclimatization is Key: Beyond the climb itself, you must manage how your climbers handle rising altitudes and shifting weather. Setting up camps and playing specific cards increases their safety and chances of survival.

Winning the Expedition: The game ends when all weather tiles have been exhausted. The player who has accumulated the most victory points from both of their climbers wins.
What's Inside the Big Box?
In addition to the base game, the Big Box features three expansions that significantly increase replayability:

Lhotse: Discover a completely new peak to conquer. The double-sided board offers two distinct routes: the South Col and the extremely difficult South Face. This expansion introduces new weather tiles and a unique mechanic—fixed rope tokens—which allow players to establish their own custom routes.

Broad Peak: Includes two new scenarios inspired by the achievements of Polish Himalayan climbers in 1984. "Race to the Top" is a fast-paced, high-tension version where the expedition is 3 days shorter. "Broad Peak Traverse" encourages risky play by offering bonus points for conquering all three summits of the massif.

Avalanche: This mini-expansion enhances the weather tiles and raises the difficulty level, bringing dangerous consequences even to climbers resting in their tents.
